In 2021, he co-founded NuQuest Energy to focus on renewable energy across the Gulf Coast.

Mr. Barrell's 40 years of extensive expertise spans a diverse spectrum across the energy landscape, with his current focus encompassing oil, natural gas, lithium, solar, natural gas power generation, and CCS. His educational foundation is firmly rooted in geology, with degrees earned from Louisiana State University and Texas A&M University.
